Earlene Smith, 92, of Malvern passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012 in Hampton, Arkansas. She was born December 2, 1919, in Baucam, Arkansas the daughter of Leon and Gracie Bumpus Cox. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and a past member of Eastern Star. Earlene loved doing craft work and first and foremost in her life, was her church, where she attended all activities. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Joe Smith; brothers, Elton, Edward, Everett, and Eugene Cox; sister, Eva Johnson; and grandson, Jeffrey Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, D.L. Smith and wife Mary Lou of Hampton, Ray Smith of Malvern, and Joe Bob Smith and wife Peggy of Hot Springs; sister, Ella Mae Krisell of Stuttgart; grandchild, Jeanie Smith of Hampton; best friend, Eva Mae Linam; and neighbor, Rita Woosley.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24th from 6:00-8:00pm at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 25th at 10:00am at Second Baptist Church with Brother Joey McDermott and Brother Herbert Watts officiating. Interment will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard Duke, Harry Ritter, Cecil Mauney, Bob Gilbert, David Meggs, David Selph, Brother Lane Chancellor, and Brother John Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be all the men of Second Baptist Church.
